Joslyn’s practice focuses on transactional work for real estate buyers, sellers, investors and developers, lenders, large and small businesses, and estate planning for individuals. Joslyn’s extensive transactional experience enables her to effectively handle customized business, lending and real estate transactions, and draft creative estate plans.  She handles a broad range of legal issues for her clients, ranging from helping first-time home buyers to advising national businesses in complex real estate development and financing matters.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS:

  • Represents clients in all phases of residential and commercial real estate transactions, from initial contract review and negotiation, due diligence investigations, including review and evaluation of title and survey matters, physical inspections and evaluations, land use and entitlement matters, through and after closing.

  • Assists individuals with business entity formation and structuring, including limited liability companies, partnerships and corporations.

  • Represents individual and entity clients with the negotiation and drafting of residential and commercial leases.

  • Represents clients in business purchase and sale transactions (asset and stock purchases).

  • Assists developers in all phases of a project, including land use and zoning matters for subdivisions, condominium and other mixed-use projects, preparation and negotiation of construction and development contracts, preparation of project governing documents, and management of complete project operations.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Joslyn has been a practicing attorney in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1996, previously with Leavenworth & Karp, P.C., and in 2004 as a founding partner of Hill, Kinney & Wood, LLC.  Prior to moving to the Valley, Joslyn practiced law in Hawaii as an associate with a large Honolulu law firm and as a Deputy Attorney General, representing the state in the development and financing of affordable housing projects and cases involving the condemnation of fee simple interests in real property.

  • Joslyn maintains active licenses to practice law in the states of Colorado, Texas, and Hawaii. She has the honor and privilege of continuing to represent clients in all three states.

  • Joslyn is recognized as a member of “Lawyers of Distinction” for excellence in real estate law.
